Contingency Arrangements and Makeup Days

The awarding bodies have scheduled a contingency day at the end of the exam timetable, as part of their standard planning for significant disruptions.

Following lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, additional contingency measures have been introduced to ensure resilience against major events, such as extreme weather or national emergencies.

For the June 2024 exams, the contingency plan includes:

The standard contingency day is Wednesday, 26 June 2024

Two additional half-day contingency sessions are scheduled for Thursday, 6 June 2024, and Thursday, 13 June 2024.

Schools, candidates, and parents should know these contingency days and plan accordingly. Candidates are advised to remain available until Wednesday, 26 June 2024, should exams need to be rescheduled due to unforeseen events.
